This place is nothing special for dinner, but it is expensive. I got a rib steak that was pretty much inedible as it was all fat. My daughter liked the steamer clams. Thank God they had booze cause I just sat there and got crocked, I was on vacation anyways. Then I stumbled back to the Polynesian and played pinball, poorly.

We come here for razor clams. They are available on the breakfast menu, plus lunch and dinner. But beware that if you come late on a weekend morning the tourist influx can have taken its toll. We have arrived late on a weekend morning and the place has looked like a few dozen families with kiddies had blown through and eaten breakfast specials with pancakes and the floor had a fair amount of residue on it. The hostess and wait staff get a bit brisk at times. Chowder is good. I'm sure getting and keeping good wait staff is tough in a small coastal town. Just be patient with these folks, chill and give them a little leeway. They will try and do their best. But they do get slammed on the weekends.

This place is OK......just OK. A bit overpriced and the food is OK. The Chowder is the reason why we always go back. We once had clams that smelled like Mussels and we asked the waitress about them and she said "that's the way they always smell." Most of time though the service is better than that. The kids love the chowder so we will be back.

it looked nicer on the outside. maybe because it was a newer building. Inside isn't so new. The food was ok. It was not fresh seafood. I should have known when below the sign, "fresh seafood" neon light was off.

I have been in Ocean Shores numerous times but have only tried the Homeport twice.Things can go wrong in the best of places so we gave it a second try after a year or so. Wish we hadn't. Service was almost non existent. Food was bland and boring and not very good. We were very disappointed in the food and actually left hungry since we couldn't eat what we got. If you're thinking of going here, do yourself a favor and think harder. It's better if you pass it by.

Great place to go for breakfast, but over priced and not very good for dinner.

We have been to this restaurant a few times over the years. It has consistently been about a #3. Nothing great to write home about and nothing bad either. The food is decent and the staff has been OK. The menu is basic American dishes prepared without any fancy touches. If you are in the mood for just a casual experience without, this place should be fine.

Girl who answered my question over the phone was very rude and due to her im not making reservations.............im crossing this off my list. She didnt know the menu!

Very poor service. We were there on a Monday night, there were 4 in our party. After ordering drinks (3 glasses of the house wine), after about 10 minutes, we asked about them. We were told there was a mixup in the bar and they would be our soon. What is to mix up with house wine? It took about 20 minutes to finally get them. We order an appetizer, we were about 3/4 the way through it and the waitress just picked it up, didn't ask if we were done with it, just took it!!!!! Our dinner took over minutes to get after the appetizer was picked up from our table. All we had was 3 orders of fish and chips and one order of razor clams and oysters. THE SERVICE WAS VERY SLOW AND POOR. We could understand on a busy night but there were only about 5 parties in the resturant. One couple sat at their table for about 10 minutes waiting to order and finally got up and left. Would probably not go back with other choices in town.

I've eaten here several times and still haven't had a really bad meal. The service is home-town and a bit slower than I like, but the food has always been great. This weekend, we had Fish and Chips and the seafood platter and loved them. The seafood platter contained grilled salmon and cod, so much better than the usual deep fried fare. The oysters, as always, are perfectly cooked. Other restaurants in Ocean Shores are good, but this one is still my favorite here.

This place Is way over priced! The bartender was very sloppy, eating as she was making drinks. Putting her hands in the ice and eating it. I would suggest to get new management. The manager was very rude and looked like a drug addict. Ocean Shores is deceiving, it sounds great. The best thing there is to drive on the beach. The Polynesian, hands down has the best food in Ocean Shores with class:)

Pretty upset. Came here because the menu online said they had "creamy cheesy Mac and cheese" and I LOVE some homemade mac and cheese. I came here and got 2 orders because the waiter said one wouldn't be enough so I said okay awesome thinking I was about to get 2 servings of delicious homemade Mac and cheese.. Out comes my ice cold plate of.... BOXED MAC AND CHEESE.. I kid you not. I sent it back because it was literally ice cold and felt frozen and thought, hey it will taste better when it comes back hot. Nope. They don't even give you the good boxed Mac and cheese. They give you the stuff you buy for 99 cents at the store. Lol! So disappointed. The waiter was the only thing I was happy about. Mel was super nice and friendly but the fact they serve boxed Mac for $11 is a joke.

Had a late dinner there on Saturday night. Fish and chips and prawns were lightly breaded and flaky. Wife had dungeness crab fettuccine. Both meals were very good. Service was excellent especially considering the late time. Only bad was the ice tea. Overall well worth the money.

Friendly place that tries hard. But they overcooked the scallops and the prawns. And we won't even comment on the Oyster shooters. Ugh!

  • Amanda J.

Dinner for four. 1child ordering from the children's menu, 3 adults all having seafood. Pleasantly surprised with the food considering there were not many reviews on yelp about the place. It's pretty casual so don't expect fancy. Mid range prices.

The best fish we've had in ocean shores. Service and atmosphere was great, Tina was an absolute sweetheart and very pleasing! We'll definitely be returning.

Was originally skeptical about the atmosphere and quality of food when scoping out places to eat. But after coming in, was very pleased with the service, quality of food, and atmosphere. Had curry prawns on special. TO DIE FOR!!!!!!! Definitely coming back again! :-)

3 is probably being generous but the waitress was really nice. We came in for breakfast and it was not too busy. I had the biscuits and gravy and a mocha. The gravy was so thick that it was actually gross and I couldn't finish it all. I think that it was a generic mix and not made in house regardless of what they claim. I also ordered a side of hash browns and they were crispy and good. The mocha was decent but a little small for the price. My friend had the waffle and said it was really good. It looked like it and made me wish that I would have ordered that. Friendly service, outdated, tourist decor but that is everyplace in OS.

Breakfast has always been good here I see a lot of bad reviews for dinner but we have never had dinner here so ...maybe just go for eggs benny in the morning ! . Service has been good each time as well.

  • Jennifer G.

service was good, but the razer clams were very overcooked and bland, pretty much just like eating rubbery flour. my husband said his halibut was also very bland. food way overpriced, we left there paying over $60 for razor clams and halibut and 2 pops. we dont mind spending that much usually, but not when we can even finish our food because it is so bad. we ended up having to go to the grocery store because we were still hungry.

We come here for breakfast every time we're in Ocean Shores. I have never eaten lunch or dinner at this place, this review is for the breakfast only. We always come in mid-morning on the weekends. Even when it has been moderately busy we have always been greeted promptly and seated within 5 minutes. The food isn't overly greasy, and well priced. I normally get the Denver Omelette which is excellent. The only negative experience I had was when I ordered the Chicken-Fried Steak. I am a huge Chicken-Fried Steak fan. On the plate it looked fantastic but it tasted like breaded fish. They most likely fried it in the same deep-fryer they use to fry the fish in. Honest mistake, I didn't say anything but will stick to the omelettes from now on.

Had beers/drinks and appetizers in the bar here, then stuck around for dinner. At first I was a bit put off by the atmosphere, but it grew on me. The server (Lea?) was good, highly experienced and helpful. She was working her b#tt off with a big party and still kept up with our needs. The smoked salmon appetizer was fantastic, as were the prawns. We were hanging there watching the NCAA (brackets) for a while, then ordered chowder and a scallop/prawn dinner. Both were good. Although the bill was very high, the experience was good. I will return. (Next time I'll ask for an itemized bill.) In fairness, the cost of meals in Ocean Shores seems unreasonably high.... really.

  • Mara B.

Not real happy, ordered the prawn cocktail and the 12 oz rib steak medium. 5 medium prawns (that were soft?!) And an overcooked steak later this place left me less than satisfied dropping the amount of cash we did. Waitress never brought water, we were left dry most of dinner and the best part of dinner was the bagged salad they served on a plate. The rice was so salty it was inedible. No plans to come back.

We didn't expect to have such a good meal, but boy were we wrong. We came here for breakfast last year, and it didn't stand out as being worthy of my comment. Obviously that is no longer how I feel. My hubby and I shared the smoked salmon Benedict and a vegetarian omelette. Hubby had coffee and I had water with lemon. Hubby said they deserve 5 stars for the coffee alone. He loves his coffee Both dishes were so tasty that we promised each other we'd come back for breakfast at least one more time before we go home. The omelette had just the right proportions of cheese and veggies. The hash browns were crispy and full of flavor. The Benedict was perfect. Salmon juicy, egg done just enough, and Hollandaise buttery, but not too salty.

We ended up here on a Friday night because Mike's Seafood closes at 8PM. We come from a small town but live in the big city now and forgot that stuff like that happens. We were in the mood for steak and seafood so this seemed like our 2nd best bet since it was still open. We were doing our best to cut it some slack since we were told not to expect much from Ocean Shores. The clam chowder was good. My salad was OK. My husband's prime rib was mostly fatty bits and I had a big bowl of mussels and clams with the most bland, mediocre broth I had ever tasted. The clams were sandy and 3 mussels didn't even open up. I was fearful of stomach issues later but everything was fine. We tried a razor clam and I really liked it. Should've ordered that instead of the mussels but I wasn't in the mood for a fried dinner. I had 1 glass of wine and he had a beer. No dessert. The bill was over $70. Wow. The busser was really sweet and our waitress got a whole lot nicer once we started asking her questions about the town and razor clams. The hostess was almost humorously surly. Small towns man... there's just nothing like 'em.

Some restaurants were closed on Sunday, therefore, I drove and picked Home Port restaurant for dinner. Like I expected, kinda old fashion style restaurant and slow service. Steamed clams - Very fresh but too buttery. Seafood chowder - Creamy but not flavour Salad - Absolutely blend Steak - Poor frozen steak! Almost well done when it served. Fish & chip - Halibut strip was tasty and fresh. It worth to try it if compare with other dishes.

Very limited menu and the waitress just didn't seem to care. I have been coming here for years and it has certainly changed in menu and attitude over the years and not for the better. Too many choices for me to waste my time going back.

BEST SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD. Melani was phenomenal. I was here with family and my cousin has a sever shellfish allergy, she went above and beyond to make sure my cousin didn't have to worry about. She was great. Food wasn't great, but the service made up for it.

My overall assessment. OK. Nothing special, but nothing bad, thoroughly expected. We came for breakfast and I had waffles, which the menu made a big deal about being homemade. They were fresh, but pretty much the same as you can make yourself at any motel continental breakfast bar. The biscuits and gravy my husband had were ok. The biscuits were a little on the small side, but the gravy had decent sausage flavor. Again, it was ok. My bigger disappointment was that no where on the menu did it list their desserts. I am a big blackberry cobbler fan, and it wasn't until we were walking out that I spotted the dessert cooler with cobbler and coconut cream pie. The waitress said "oh, yeah. The cobbler's one of my favorite things to have for breakfast." Me too, if I knew about it! Cobbler fail! The waitress was very nice, and the facility itself was nicely nautical. The overall mediocrity will probably have us trying somewhere else next time.

Decent food, salmon burger was good, cheeseburger was decent, fries not great. Kids meal my son got one chicken strip...would rather he got two chicken strips and less fries. Service is so so, we came twice both at lunch. Over priced for what you get, my parents said dinner was WAY overprice for size and quality

over cooked stake and lobster . stake full of fat and grizzle, lobster chewy , captains plate tasteless. we are not hard to please at all but this was the worst meal ever ,,, and the price was way to high,, for that money we expected better much better,,, service was very good on the other hand , , so good we couldn't bring ourselves to tell the young man about it,,,, will not be back and will not recommend ,, and will say '"stear clear".. warning danger will Robinson danger

I went there for dinner a week ago and was disappointed with both the service and quality of the food. It was busy, I'll give them that, but the service was too fragmented, too many workers, each having a different function; one to seat you, one to take your order for a drink, another to take your dinner order. All fine and dandy but they weren't able to coordinate with each other or know the order customers were seated. One group seated after me were the first to be helped. My order was really quite simple, a bottle of Sam Adams Summer Brew along with Fish & Chips. So we have one server taking my beer order and another for the food. I received the beer quite early and though sipping it quite slowly nearly half was gone by the time the food arrived. Then the fish; I'm not accustomed for the batter in a Fish & Chips order to be over cooked. I consider Fish & Chips to be a finger food; this was so tough I would not have been able to cut it with a fork.

Average food. Chowder is very good however. A bit dated menu and restaurant decor. There are lights hung over every table. Looks like they've gone "green" with energy saver bulbs. The only problem? They must be 5000 watts. MY EYES !!!!! The place used to be a bit cozy but now a bit warehouse. Needs to add one or two veggie friendly items (besides the one salad) Wine list has few Washington state wines (lack thereof a pet peeve of mine for local restaurants) Comfortable for families. On the basis of the chowder and attentive staff, gets a 3 rather than a two.

Went here for dinner Sunday 8/10/14 because of spotty reviews of most restaurants in Ocean Shores and because we heard it had great clam chowder. My companion ordered the chowder and said it was "ok". I ordered the halibut and it was dry and did not have a lot of flavor. Needed lots of tartar sauce. The baked potato did not come with sour cream. The salad was large but fairly ordinary. The atmosphere was rather gloomy and service was somewhat indifferent. We sat at least ten minutes just waiting for someone to take our order. In short, there was nothing special about this place and on my next trip to Ocean Shores I will take my chances somewhere else.

My husband and I were recommended to eat here when we asked for a nice place with good steak. Not so. The place looks like a dive, but the prices were high. We only ate there because of high readings on yelp. The service was good and fast, very nice people. That is all there is good to say about it though. The 8 oz new York steak was actually about 5 oz of meat and 3 oz of rock hard, un cuttable fat. That is not marbling for flavor. It even appeared a bit freezer burned. The calamari was obviously a frozen to deep fryer product not worth 12.99. Over all that meal cost us 50 bucks, and was not worth 20. I strongly urge you to not eat here. It only got two stars for having nice employees.

I ordered the Seafood Saute' for lunch. The good news is, the food was brought out quickly. The "interesting" news is.... the salad came WITH the dinner, not before. Regarding the salad, I believe you get the same amount of salad that is at other restaurants, but they "mooshed" it into a smaller bowl to fit on the plate with the entree. Interesting...... As for the entree, the two halves of the Texas Toast that came with the entree were bigger than the entree. On the other hand, there was a good assortment of seafood in the entree, it's not like it was 50 shrimp and ONE piece of salmon..... It was "seasoned" basically with green onions and mushrooms, not much for spices. A bit pricey for what you get, but that's par for this area. No room to park the RV if you aren't towing a car. I had access to a car so managed to get to this place.

Last time of 3 chances which is why I'm writing. When I go out of town, I try to support the small businesses. The waitstaff is wonderful. The owners and chefs need to go have breakfast somewhere else then come back and compare. (Ex. Darby's in Olympia) How hard is it to make an excellent breakfast? It's not! The omelette I had was paper thin with substandard sausage, English muffin was raw, and the coffee is made with hot water and a Coffee Nip candy. Other breakfast was as disappointing. If you're willing to spend $30 on unsatisfying food that you won't even finish, this is the place for you.

We had v good fried halibut at a fair price. Coconut cream pie was excelllent and not overly sweet and enough for 2. Great service friendly and knowledgeable about the source of their seafood. Would come back. Yeah the price of Dungeness was high but expected market price.

This restaurant is pretty average. The food is okay, the service is friendly and it's convienent. I've been eating at this restaurant for years. It's worth checking out if you are in the area.

Had take out tonight. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food was fresh and tasty. Crab pasta had a lot of fresh local crab and nice side of vegetables. Over all this is good local eatery. Will be back.

First of all, I would like to address the previous reviewer's photo and description of the "creamy Mac and cheese" debacle. That was on the kids menu. Enough said... Visiting for one night from Seattle and needing dinner at 830pm, we happened upon this wonderful family establishment and left fully satisfied. Some of the things we liked a lot: - service- it's obvious the team has worked together for years as everyone was helping each other, joking around and just taking great care of everyone. - homemade- when I asked "what salad dressings are house made, and the waitress's says "well, the ranch, Italian, blue cheese, honey mustard and thousand island are all made from the owners own recipes", I knew this was going to be good. And they put a beet on the salad. So old school, so awesome. - prime rib. This was awesome old school well seasoned and amazing portion. Yummy!!! - chicken Alfredo- when I asked if I could have Vegis inside the pasta , the answer was "that sounds awesome, sure" and the chef put perfectly cooked crunchy zucchini and it was awesome. The sauce was obviously made ala-minute and not pre- made. Bravo. - coconut creme pie- house made and probably one of the best. Huge slice. Holy cow! Great meal. Great service. Perfect for a non fancy but super friendly and tasty night.

The service was great and I enjoyed my stay. Came here with my family while visiting ocean shores. My wife's steamer clams and salad were absolutely delicious, plus the portion was amazing for the price. My son got the chicken strip which was fried to perfection with panko breadcrumbs. I was craving some fish and chips so I ordered the captains platter, and this is when it all went so wrong. The platter arrived COVERED in grease, and as I ate the scallops the batter fell off. The salmon was dry, overcooked, and had no flavor. If your going to eat here I recommend that you gat the steamer clam meal as it is amazing.

Home port, " Right" they should call it the home pot, because that's where the food belongs. The owner does not care because she own's half the town and thinks her poop don't stink! She's rued to the people she comes in contact with, and to her staff. This place should be sold and some one take it over that cares. Worst place in town! Avoid if you come to Ocean Shores.

My wife and I stopped in for Sunday breakfast despite all of the negative reviews because it was the busiest place in this part of town. We were greeted warmly, seated promptly, and the server was at our table in a flash. I went for the biscuit and gravy breakfast (2 biscuits with sausage gravy, hash browns, 2 eggs any style, and 2 strips of bacon or 2 sausage links). The biscuits were moist and flaky, and buttered before being smothered with a rich gravy with a good amount of real chunks of sausage. The hash browns were golden and crispy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. The bacon was the right amount of chewy while still being fully cooked, and the two eggs over medium were just right. It needed some salt, but everyone's tastes are different, and I'd much rather add salt than have something too salty from the kitchen. My wife opted for two slices of French toast, which were golden and delicious. The server checked back with us several times, and dropped the check off within minutes of our having finished. The price was a little higher than we would have paid further inland, but only by a dollar or two overall, and can easily be accounted for by the fact that we're on a small spit of land that all food has to be trucked out to from the nearest major city, over 100 miles away. We would definitely eat here again when we're back in Ocean Shores.

A bit pricey, but that's my only complaint! We went here twice during our vacation because the service and food were so good! My husband says their clam chowder is as good as or better than Ivar's. The mixed drink specials were very tasty. Excellent job with the themed recipes.

My Girlfriend and I went out for a nice dinner. After asking around for a nice place, we were told to come here. Great pick!!! The service was great and the food was amazing!!! Cost me around 100, but we both had steak and lobster. Would definitely recommend it to anyone.

We went to another restaurant referred to us by a local thinking it had Razor Clams and unfortunately it didn't because it was a very cool hip place. They were super nice and sent us here. They were pretty confident this was the only place that was open on a Sunday night serving my ultimate craving "the Razor Clam"! So we arrive and although the atmosphere reminded me of a old run down bar, slot machines included with a touch of help the staff greeted us with a smile and was very friendly. A table for 4 please. 2 adults 2 kids (10yrs old). Menu has a nice selection however the pricing isn't adding up to the atmosphere, kids menu is very select and honestly way over priced therefor my expectations of the food just went up about 5 notches and told the kids they should order from the main menu. I'm totally fine with pricing if my food is created the same. AND I'm really wanting my Razor Clams! Service: The server couldn't find it in herself to bring water. After our 3rd request, finally! We also had to take 2 place settings from another table after asking 3-4 times. She was super nice but for some reason couldn't remember our simple requests. Hubby ordered the Greek Salad (not very good), kids ordered the clams on the appetizer menu (bland) and a cheese burger (pretty good) and I ordered the $24 Razor Clam dinner. I got 4 very large battered clams (cooked perfectly) aside from the breading on them. It was just soggy so I just scraped it off and enjoyed a very well cooked Razor Clam w/veggies and clam chowder, delightful and my search was complete. TIP: If you'd like, they offer just 1 Razor Clam on the menu for I think $4.99 and if you like it and order the dinner you don't have to pay for it there's just one less clam on your plate. Or if your just in the mood for 1 or 2 clams, great way to go! All in All I guess if your looking for Razor Clams on a Sunday I would just stop for 1 or 2. Expect a happy greeting, friendly people but overpriced menu with not the best taste. l Most likely won't be back but glad we tried!

Delicious! I ordered 3 piece cod & chips (9.99) & he ordered fish sandwich (9.99). We also shared the clam chowder & jalapeño corn chowder. Everything was great right down to the toast. Cod was flakey and the breading wasn't greasy. Server was spot on & worked well with other employees.

Not the cheapest meal, but then again, that's pretty standard for Ocean Shores. Expect to spend around $20 for food per person on average. I used to come here as a kid every time we came to the beach, and I came back after years and it was pretty much exactly the same. I saw a lot of reviews saying service was bad, but our service when I went this time was actually really good. Both the waitress and busser were friendly and polite, as well as attentive. My boyfriend got the steak ($20) and fries...really small serving of fries, but he said it was all tasty. I had the caesar salad with salmon ($16), and the salmon was good as well. Clam chowder was also pretty decent. Definitely not the best I've had, but worth getting. I feel like Homeport would totally be the kind of restaurant to be on "Restaurant Impossible" (mainly because of the decor), but I'd still say it's not a bad dinner option. Better than Alec's in my opinion for the price.

The thing with Ocean Shores is this: this is a small town that attracts tourists, it is not by any means a well known tourist attraction with resorts and five star restaurants. That being said, this is a decently nice restaurant where my boyfriend and I enjoyed a satisfying meal. The food here was fine.. we ordered the rib steak and the fried cod & prawns platter with fries. Every meal comes with your choice of soup or salad and fries, baked potato, rice pilaf or fresh vegetables. Everything had good taste, was fresh annnnnd ok,maybe it is a tad over priced (but if you're one of twelve restaurants you can do that). The staff were warm and welcoming. It was exactly what I expected. I will probably return next time I visit Ocean Shores.

Dropped in for lunch on a Sunday. Fast service and attentive. I had the razor clams which were frest, cooked perfect and delicious. The extra side salad was large and I couldn't finish it, but tasty. My wife had a salad special which she loved. We will go back.

This was pretty good. Hubby and I came here for breakfast. He had a crab and shrimp omelet and I had eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. Hubby's breakfast was good, and mine was also. Only complaints I had was that the over-easy eggs were a little undercooked (some of the whites were a little runny) and the salmon was a bit bland. It was tasty, but I was a little underwhelmed on this trip.

Had breakfast this morning here. Hubs had the ham steak and eggs with hashbrowns and I had the eggs Benedict. Really good!! Service was great, nice waitress. Overall a great experience. Clean and nice restaurant.

I give it 2 stars because the staff at the front counter were fun! However there is a reason that this restaurant was the only place to get a table on New Year's eve, without a reservation. The Prime rib was a very fatty cut. The prawns where not what you would expect from a seafood restaurant. The steamed clams had no flavor unless you like fishy. The bread was doughy and the price was to high for such low quality. The only part I enjoyed was the green salad. We won't go back. If you find yourself in Ocean Shores make reservations and enjoy a good meal at another place.

  • Cindy C.

If you've never been here, prepare to be surprised. You'll lay down $22-$30 for many of the dinner selections. That isn't necessarily a bad thing of course, if the food and experience call for it. Here, though, one has to see the prices as nothing short of audacious, given that the ambiance is dated coastal pancake diner, and the food would be best thought of as 3 star fare on Yelp - if it cost 25% less to partake of it. I will happily give 4 stars to most of the servers we came in contact with and the hostess for their small town friendliness, but for value, this place is off the CHARTS bad. Word to the wise: If you have kids (including teens) in tow, plan to eat before 9 (maybe even earlier) in Ocean Shores, so that you have other, more reasonable options.

NEVER NEVER AGAIN... AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE!! I'd give it zero stars if I could. This restaurant is awful. The service was mouthy and rude, the food was inedible, and when we complained about the 4th item we had to send back to the kitchen, we were given lip and told we had to pay for both that item AND anything we'd choose to replace it with. It was the first time I'd ever considered just walking out of a restaurant. I have since written two letters asking for a refund of my $113 only to be ignored. They can talk to the Attorney General's office now. UPDATE 2/2011: The restaurant denies we got horrible service and when they got my first letter decided I wasn't worth replying to. That right there says a LOT about their customer service. At least the AG's office forced them to reply to my complaint which, apparently, they had no intention of ever doing. I won't get my money back, but the complaint is now public record. NEVER EAT HERE.

My sister, brother in law, and I ate here for dinner. BIL & I ordered a Shrimp plate and bowl of clam chowder, my sister ordered lobster plate... After reading other reviews, I guess we went there the right time as our food was delicious! We ate in the lounge, as we didn't feel like waiting for seating. Our waitress was excellent server, great attitude, and very friendly. Our food, the shrimp was bigger than I thought and it was the best shrimp I have ever ate. The chowder was excellent soup, right amount flavor, creamy, not too salty. We will definately be going back when we are in the area again as we do travel alot.

Went for mothers day lunch. Iced tea tasted like deep fried grease. Seriously gross. My crab and cheese sandwich was really good but the Kobe burger was very raw and the bun was soggy. Service was ok but not great. Definitely skip the trip if you are in ocean shores.

Well my parents came here and got food poisoning and said that this was the one place that we shouldn't check out when we came to Ocean Shores. However, they had also mentioned another restaurant and I mixed up the two...so we ended up here. Maybe this is a better spot for breakfast, because it was great! I had the eggs benedict with hashbrowns and the bf had the same with pancakes on the side. Well, it was extremely tasty and I didn't get sick afterwards, so I consider the experience a success. We had a nice view of the street so that we could watch our devil pup in the car. Service was good and fast. Perhaps this isn't a great place for dinner...but the breakfast was great! I'd come here again.

I liked this place!! My husband and I were in town for sun & surf 2012 and asked a local guy where's a good place to eat. We ate breakfast here TWICE :-) yummy breakfast and knowledgable staff.

We all decided to venture out on a cold rainy weekend for some clam chowder. With a recommendation from a local we walked over to Homeport. We were seated right away and our sever quickly brought us drinks. Our appetizer took quite awhile- we thought maybe they had to go out to the ocean to get some oysters. Then we noticed a couple that were seated after us get their meal. hmmm. It appeared our food was forgotten, becuase it came soon after our oysters arrived. I really liked the clam chowder though. I'd at least go back for that. My group also stayed after our meal to chat for some time and they never rushed us out- which was appreciated.

After crappy service and food at Quinault Casino, we stopped here on the way out of town for breakfast. Excellent service and great food. Maybe because we were very hungry, but both of use, said...wow what a difference from the casino. What's funny, is we also saw another couple come in that also stayed at the casino... they too were here for the food and skipped the casino. (this speaks volumes!) We will be back... like I said, very good breakfast and the waitress was very friendly and a pleasure to have serving us. Thanks guys!! You restored our faith in Ocean Shores!

Oh boy! After sitting down at our table. We realized we were reading the reviews for the wrong restaurant on Yelp. Mostly bad reviews. We couldn't get up, there was 10 of us, so we decided to stay and eat it! The waitress was nice and so was the hostess. We actually got some pretty darn good service. The food was actually not bad at all! Yes, the staff looked a little sketchy, but this reminded us not to judge. I'm taking off two stars because the owner or manager that took over the hostess job was incredibly rude to some people. A young couple with a baby asked to sit at a different table with more room for the baby and the owner/manager scoffed and rolled her eyes while slapping the menus on her leg in blatant discontent for having to seat them at a different table. Four other tables saw the same gesture. Just very tacky and trashy service from her part. Something you punch someone in the throat or pinch their first born for. Incredibly rude. Oh, and the fish was not fresh like the waitress said. She was cool though, except for lying to me about the fish. =)

We went to the Homeport on a recommendation from a local. We were seated promptly even though we were told there was a wait. The encounter with the first team member at our table was nice. He was enthusiastic and cheerful. He filled our water glasses and took our drink order and let us know our server would arrive shortly. She did. She was very friendly and efficient, though she didn't check back often enough. I had the ribeye and the clam chowder, while my wife had the fish and chips. They were both very good, albeit a little more expensive than I'd like to see in a restaurant such as this one. But, we were in a small town tourist area. The only *real* issue was with one of the diners. A trailer living, pickup truck driving, tye dye tanktop, potleaf hat wearing, fatass bearded sh!tstain that just *had* to talk on his cellphone at an elevated volume. Now, I really don't care if his friend is a "fscking faggot", nor do I care how he talks to his friends and family when they're home in their trailer, but that sort of behavior and language doesn't belong in a restaurant full of people trying to enjoy a night out. He was oblivious to that fact, and apparently the staff didn't really want to confront him about it. We'd still go back.

Try the Alder smoked salmon appetizer, very nice size portion of salmon. The surf and turf was right on. Service staff was very friendly. Would go back for sure.

Cost was too high. Food not worth it. I am from New England and that was no famous chowder. The prime rib I ordered "rare" was far from it. When I said how it was well done she realized I did not even get the 12 ounce cut I was given the 8. When the second came back out I was told "This was as rare as he could get it." Not sure why you would give someone the option of how it was cooked when it only comes out one way. Which was again well done. No red...not even a tiny bit of pink. My husband had the $22.00 crab fettuccine. He could hardly find the crab. Just way too much money for what you get. Not impressed.

I was so excited to have a lovely dinner with my children, mother, grandparents, and aunt and uncle. The first thing to happen was we all ordered drinks. My aunt and uncle ordered a lemondrop but there was no lemon you could even taste in it. Thankfully, the nice and busy waitress remade them because she said there have been complaints about how the bartender doesn't know how to make them. My Splash drink was indeed stout and yummy though. I ordered the seafood platter... and I could not believe how little the scallops were and the cod portion... common.. for 22 bucks it was ridiculous! The salad was yummy but they didn't have blue ch.. it was really ranch. The best thing about my meal was the prawns.. they were delicious. I think I will stick to emilys from now on in Ocean Shores, usually pretty quality food with good seafood. Was a bit of bummer tonight, hope they serve better quanity w fresher seafood in the future!

I had a nice dinner of prawns and Marion berry cobbler. The six people at the table next to me had a wide selection of seafood and they were all very happy. They were especially excited about the Ruben chowder. I was especially excited about the dozen or so choices of homemade desserts including my yummy and generous piece of cobbler - plus pies and cakes. I am always looking for dessert while on the road.

Here's the deal with the Home Port. It's in a town that is mostly devoid of good food or good service. They also have a problem with "city slickers" who expect food to taste good or be delivered without the etiquette of a buffalo. If you go in with that understanding, this place isn't bad. And they are one of the only things open after 7:00 P.M. during the height of summer tourist season. That one I just can't wrap my brain around. Tonight, my daughter ordered chicken strips. They were surprisingly delicious and made from chicken breast that wasn't dried out. Miracle! I tasted the BBQ sauce, and it was also quite good. Turns out it's made on site. I had the Greek salad, which was big, fresh, and tasty. Greek olives, purple onions, feta, cucumber. A genuine Greek salad in Ocean shores. Shocking! The biggest problem with this place is the servers who appear to be beaten with canes in the back room. What else could explain the surly, pissed-off attitude? These people HATE working here, and they'll be damned if they treat you any better than they apparently are being treated. Just order, don't expect service, don't make any demands that seem unreasonable (remember, city slickers, think small town here), shut up, eat your food, and wait 10 minutes for them to eventually slink over to the front desk to take your money. And try the chicken strips.

I don't leave many bad reviews, but this is an emphatic DONT come here! What a joke... Perfect example of a touristy business spending all of their effort and dollars on advertising and NOT on their product. Dinner - overpriced, worst cut of prime rib ever...whatever...here's the worst part: Breakfast, "can I please have an egg-white omelette"...servers response, "I don't think today's cook likes to do that, I will ask though". 2 minutes later; you guessed it - the frikkin cook doesn't like to do this. I couldn't believe it! I offered extra money, no matter. Only reason they get 1 star is because yelp requires it.

After going to the Chinese restaurant across the street and leaving because it was so filthy we opted for The Homeport. I have come to relish in the out dated decor and slow service in resort towns. I just kind of expect it so that was not my disappointment. I just felt it was WAY WAY too expensive for the quality of the food. The halibut was dry, it came with weird suedo Texas toast that was soggy and the fries were those gross generic frozen ones that taste more like grease than anything else. On a positive note, our server was very nice. Things came out promptly & the chowder (which has bacon in it) was good. Visit again? Unlikely.

My parents and I have been comig here for the last few years and absolutely adore the staff and the restaurant/bar. Leah in the bar is amazing. She always goes the extra mile to make us feel at home. The waitstaff knows my son Henry now and goes out of their way to treat him extra special. The remodel looks fantastic and I can always count on a delicious meal. Thanks for being there for me and my family, Homeport. We appreciate all you have to offer. To those passing by...pls make a stop and say hi to Leah in the bar.

So so. No one in the town and an empty bar. Ate in the lounge. A decent $3 glass of wine. Menu way overpriced. Had the steak and prawn special. Soup was cold, steak was tough, fried shrimp was not tasty. Enough said

Food was good (a family member I dined with had the grilled salmon and said it was surprisingly good), the place was clean, they had adequate parking, and a friendly staff. I'd eat here if I ever decide to visit Ocean Shores again.

This was the first time being in Ocean Shores and this restaurant was a disaster. I'm from the Seattle area and am a big seafood fan. It doesn't get much fresher or better than in Seattle. When vacationing in Ocean Shores, I decided to take the fam to a seafood joint. Hell, when in Rome, right? Who wants to eat Mexican or Vietnamese in a small beach town like Ocean Shores? Not me! First thing we noticed were the outrageous menu prices. I can find cheaper and better seafood in Seattle for a fraction of the price, so why so expensive? Because were in Ocean Shores? Not buying it! We were very hungry and figured we'll just eat here instead of driving around for another 10-15 minutes deciding on another place to eat. We ordered the cheapest entree item, the Fish 'N Chips. $12 for FnC isn't that bad of a price, but it's not great either. Our 9 year old had the kid's FnC's for only $7. I asked for bleu cheese with my side salad. Only it wasn't bleu cheese, it was some sort of zesty ranch dressing. I tasted my father-in-law's "bleu cheese", and his was the same. This was their idea of bleu cheese? Out came the FnC's. I'm not a big fan of cod, because it's white fish and white fish is bland, so I expect the batter to have some seasoning/flavor to it. Nope, not even the batter had seasoning. C'mon guys, a little salt can go a long way! The ketchup for my fries was watered down in it's own Heinz ketchup bottle. Really? You're that cheap that you refill your ketchup bottles with a watered down version? Our FnC's came with three cods and a handful of fries, whereas the kid's FnC's had two cods and the same amount of chips. Us adults paid $12 for our FnC's and never even touched the third cod, yet kids can have two for $7? I'd much rather have ordered from the kid's menu. This place was just awful from the second we stepped through their doors. I guess next time I'm in Ocean Shores, we'll have to stick to the local favorites such as the Mexican and Vietnamese. Hell, even the local McDonald's was a royal screw up.

The homeport was referred to us but we were not impressed. The service was not great and they didn't under simple menu questions. The food was fine but not spectacular. The appetizer menu had no prices and the waitress ran through it ridiculously fast. It was strange.

Can I leave no stars? A group of friends and I ended up there after coming out of the woods on camping trip. We were seated promptly and started to peruse the menu. Nothing really exciting. Half seafood, sandwiches, fried goods. We didn't even get to the food! By the time we had all decided what we wanted, we still didn't have water and a couple workers had passed by a couple - a - times. We decided it was a good thing we didn't stay to get food poisoning.

Had the lunch special cheeseburger, which was pretty mediocre. The burger was topped with processed American cheese, lettuce and tomato, nothing to write home about. The fountain drinks had a really musty taste and were undrinkable. The waitress did take them off our bill. The service was good, but the food not so much. Probably will not be going back.

OK, we brought our large group (8 people) here on a Saturday afternoon at the start of the summer season. The wait was going to be 30 minutes, until I suggested that we sit in the lounge. BINGO. Almost empty. There was only one other couple in the whole bar. However, there were some lacking qualities. A member of our party ordered a mojito and was asked "what's that?" by the bartender. Really? I had a hard time reconciling that. Also, regardless of draft beers, they don't sell pitchers. The server thought we were asking her to take our picture....REALLY??? The food was standard restaurant fare; burgers, sandwiches, fish. The fish isn't fresh; which I find weird since we are basically on the Pacific ocean. The prices do not reflect the quality. I think my 12% tip said it all.

my first razor clam experience! a little nervous but in a town known for the razor clam i had to give it a go. they give u a sample of one fried and breaded razor clam if you want for $4. i did that first. the razor clam is big and stretched out to probably 7 inches and has different body parts where i guess the neck is the most chewy (worse part) and the foot or upper part is the most tender. i liked it and then ordered the full size platter or about 4 clams. and i got a baked potato. they brought out this huge ball that lookedl ike an ice cream cone. but in fact it was fake butter! o u know you're in a small town when you get a scoop full of butter, sour cream, and green onions.

My husband and I went to the Home Port on recommendation of a hotel staff person. We were told it was more reasonable than Alec's by the Sea but had good food. If it IS more reasonable, then I'm really glad we didn't go to Alec's - it was $17- "market price" for dinner. The waitress was friendly enough but service was slow. The seafood ciopino was bland, too much tomato in the sauce, had tiny canned shrimp in it (not on par for a $22 bowl of seafood chowder), and left a lot to be desired. The prawns and clams in it were good, but that's about where it ended. The chicken parmigiana was very bland. Noodles were too soft, no real flavor (other than tomato) in the sauce. A few steamed veggies on the side would have been nice. The portion sizes were generous, but that doesn't matter much when you're not excited for the taste. I'd have been better off with a greasy burger from a bar. Won't go to the Home Port again.

My husband and I both ordered the fish & chips meal, figuring it would be safe after reading a few other reviews. The fish, chips and garlic toast were all obviously frozen; the kind you would buy in the freezer section at the grocery store. The fries were warm but not crispy. The fish was exactly what you would expect from frozen fish sticks. Listen to the reviews and don't go here.
